Throughout his 30 years of practice, Dr. Jim Walters has served a variety of communities. As a leading advocate for trauma-informed education, Jim has helped schools using a user-centric co-designing approach reimagining how we approach student behaviors through the lens of communications. In 2017, he founded traumainformedlearning.com to
Throughout his 30 years of practice, Dr. Jim Walters has served a variety of communities. As a leading advocate for trauma-informed education, Jim has helped schools using a user-centric co-designing approach reimagining how we approach student behaviors through the lens of communications. In 2017, he founded traumainformedlearning.com to help schools build resilient and healthy communities built upon the premise that it all starts with systems of care.
Currently, Jim is serving on a 5-year Department of Education school climate transformation grant team tasked with transforming how we do schooling in the US.

Welcome Abbi Walters! Abbi is a compassionate and dedicated recent social work graduate with a rich background in supporting individuals and communities through various roles. With experience ranging from aiding transitional living for youth at Darr House-Footsteps Living to providing comprehensive technical and personal support at Missouri State University's Computer Services Help Desk, Abbi has demonstrated a unique blend of empathy, technical savvy, and a commitment to positive change. Notably, Abbi's tenure as a Nike Store Associate and involvement with the Missouri State University Women's Basketball team highlight her exceptional customer service, team management, and organizational skills. Her recent contribution to Traumainformedlearning.ai showcases her innovative approach to mental health and social work, underscoring her passion for creating and facilitating programs that support community well-being. Abbi's diverse experiences affirm her ability to connect with a wide range of individuals, advocate for marginalized populations, and promote social change.
